These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LifeCompass mobile application ("App") operated by Ryan Novinc trading as AppLabs ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing and using LifeCompass, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
LifeCompass is a personal productivity and goal management application that provides:
- Personal goal setting and tracking tools
- Task and project management features
- Time blocking and scheduling capabilities
- Personal data tracking and visualization
- AI-powered chat assistance for general productivity questions
- Achievement and progress tracking systems
IMPORTANT: LifeCompass is NOT a financial advisory service. We are a productivity and goal tracking app only.
3. FINANCIAL INFORMATION DISCLAIMER
3.1 No Financial Advice
LifeCompass does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Any financial information, tools, or features within the App are:
- Provided for personal data tracking purposes only
- Based on information you voluntarily enter
- Not recommendations or advice from us
- General educational information only
Debt Management Tools Disclaimer:
Our debt tracking tools, payment strategies, and payoff calculations are educational tools only, based on standard mathematical formulas. These projections:
- Are estimates based on data you provide
- Do not account for changing interest rates, fees, or life circumstances
- Are not personalized financial advice or debt counseling
- Should not replace consultation with qualified debt counselors or financial advisors
Payment Strategy Information:
Payment methods displayed (such as "debt snowball" or "debt avalanche") are widely-known mathematical approaches, not our recommendations. The suitability of any payment strategy depends on your individual financial situation.
3.2 User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- All financial decisions and actions you take
- Verifying any information before making financial decisions
- Consulting qualified financial professionals for advice
- Understanding the risks associated with any financial activities

4. AI-POWERED FEATURES
4.1 AI Service Description
Our App integrates artificial intelligence technology (powered by OpenAI) to enhance your productivity experience through:
- General productivity assistance
- Goal and task organization help
- Information synthesis from your tracked data
- General educational responses to your questions
4.2 AI Limitations and Disclaimers
AI responses are generated by algorithms, not human experts. AI outputs may be:
- Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
- Inappropriate for your specific situation
- Subject to technical errors or bias
- Not suitable as a substitute for professional advice
4.3 Data Processing for AI
When you use AI features:
- Your messages and relevant app data may be processed by third-party AI services
- We implement privacy safeguards but cannot guarantee complete data isolation
- You should not share sensitive personal or financial information in AI conversations
- AI conversations may be logged for quality and safety purposes
4.4 Community Content and User-Generated Information
Community Feature Disclaimers:
LifeCompass community features, including third-party community platforms, may contain user-generated content, advice, opinions, and recommendations. This content:
- Represents individual user opinions and experiences only
- Does not constitute professional advice of any kind (financial, medical, legal, career, or otherwise)
- Has not been verified, endorsed, or approved by LifeCompass
- Should not replace consultation with qualified professionals
- May be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for your situation
Professional Advice Limitation:
Community members are not our employees, representatives, agents, or professional advisors. Any advice, recommendations, or information shared by community members:
- Is provided in a personal capacity only
- Should be independently verified before implementation
- Does not create any professional relationship with LifeCompass
- Should not be considered as guidance from LifeCompass
Community Interaction Disclaimers:
We expressly disclaim all liability for:
- Any content posted in community features or platforms
- Advice, opinions, or recommendations shared between users
- Loss or damage resulting from interactions with other users
- Disputes, conflicts, or disagreements between community members
- Any financial, health, career, or personal decisions made based on community content
No Obligation to Monitor: We are under no obligation to monitor, moderate, or become involved in community interactions, user disputes, or content posted on third-party platforms.
5. USER ACCOUNTS AND DATA
5.1 Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account by providing:
- Valid email address
- Phone number (for account security)
- Basic profile information
5.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
5.3 Data Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all information you enter into the App.
6. SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES
6.1 Available Plans
We offer the following subscription options:
- Founder's Lifetime Access: One-time payment for permanent access to core features
- AI Subscription Plans: Monthly/annual subscriptions for enhanced AI features
- Guide AI Plan
- Navigator AI Plan
- Compass AI Plan
6.2 Billing and Payments
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- Payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Prices are subject to change with notice
- All sales are final unless otherwise required by law
6.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions through your App Store account settings.
6.4 AI Subscription and Bundle Services
6.4.1 Service Types
We offer two complementary AI service types that work together:
- Monthly AI Subscriptions: Recurring monthly plans (Light, Plus, Max) that provide base AI credits
- AI Packages/Bundles: One-time purchases that provide additional AI credits for a specified duration (1, 3, 6, or 12 months)
6.4.2 Service Stacking
AI Packages and Monthly Subscriptions are designed to work together ("stack"):
- Monthly subscriptions provide your base allocation of AI credits each billing cycle
- AI packages add bonus credits on top of your subscription
- Both services combine to provide your total available AI assistance capacity
- You may purchase AI packages regardless of whether you have an active subscription
6.4.3 Immediate Service Activation
All AI services (subscriptions and packages) become active immediately upon successful purchase:
- Services activate at the time of purchase confirmation from Apple App Store
- You do not need to have an existing AI account for the service to be assigned
- Services will be applied to the email address you provide during the purchase process
- AI credits become available for use as soon as you create or access your AI account
6.4.4 Email Address Assignment
During purchase, you must provide an email address for service assignment:
- The email address you enter will receive the purchased AI services
- This email will be used to create or identify your AI account
- You are solely responsible for entering the correct email address
- Incorrect email addresses may result in services being assigned to the wrong account
- While we may provide assistance to transfer services between accounts in certain circumstances, such transfers are at our sole discretion and not guaranteed
6.4.5 Subscription Changes and Upgrades
When you change AI subscription tiers (e.g., from Light to Plus):
- The new subscription tier takes effect immediately
- Your billing date resets to the change date (Apple App Store policy)
- You will be charged the new subscription amount from the change date forward
- Previous tier benefits are immediately replaced with new tier benefits
- Any unused credits from your previous subscription tier are forfeited
6.4.6 Service Cancellation and Expiration
- Monthly Subscriptions: If cancelled, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
- AI Packages: Services expire on the specified end date and cannot be cancelled for partial refunds
- Cancelled subscriptions can be reactivated at any time
- Expired or cancelled services do not affect other active services (packages and subscriptions operate independently)
6.5 Refund Policy
Refunds are handled according to Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies. Contact us for refund requests outside of platform policies.
6.6 Money-Back Guarantee (Founder Access Only)
For Founder's Lifetime Access purchases made during the limited founder period:
- Guarantee applies to: LifeCompass Pro Access (one-time founder purchase) only
- Does NOT apply to: AI subscription plans, AI packages/bundles, or any recurring services
- Process: Contact support for refund requests with feedback about your experience
- Timeline: Refunds processed within 24 hours of approval
- Retention: You keep access to core features even after refund (founder benefit)
This guarantee is separate from standard App Store/Google Play refund policies and applies only during the founder promotion period.
7. REFERRAL PROGRAM
7.1 Program Description
Our referral program allows existing users to share referral codes for discounts on AI subscription plans.
7.2 Program Rules
- Referral codes are for personal use and sharing with friends/family
- Commercial use or mass distribution of referral codes is prohibited
- We reserve the right to modify or terminate the referral program at any time
- Abuse of the referral system may result in account suspension
8. ACCEPTABLE USE
8.1 Permitted Uses
You may use LifeCompass for:
- Personal goal tracking and productivity management
- Managing your tasks, projects, and schedules
- Tracking your personal progress and achievements
- Engaging with AI features for productivity assistance
8.2 Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use LifeCompass to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Share harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
- Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the App
- Share account credentials with others
- Use the service for commercial purposes without permission
- Spam or harass other users
- Share sensitive financial information with AI features
8.3 Third-Party Community Platforms
LifeCompass may provide access to third-party community platforms, including but not limited to Discord servers ("Community Platforms"). These Community Platforms:
- Are operated by third-party service providers under their own terms of service, privacy policies, and community guidelines
- Are not owned, controlled, or operated by LifeCompass or AppLabs
- Have independent moderation policies and enforcement mechanisms
- May collect and process your data according to their own privacy practices
Community Platform Disclaimers:
We are not responsible for:
- Content posted by users on Community Platforms
- Interactions, communications, or relationships between community members
- Technical issues, outages, or functionality of Community Platforms
- Privacy, security, or data handling practices of Community Platforms
- Enforcement of Community Platform rules or moderation decisions
- Any activities that occur between users outside of Community Platforms
Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your conduct on Community Platforms and must comply with both our Terms of Service and the applicable third-party platform's terms and policies.
9. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9.1 Local Data Storage
Most of your data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage technology. This includes:
- Your goals, tasks, and projects
- Personal tracking data
- App preferences and settings
- Achievement progress
9.2 Cloud Data
Limited information is stored on our servers:
- Account credentials (via AWS Cognito)
- Subscription status
- AI conversation logs (for service improvement)
- Basic usage analytics
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
10.1 Our Rights
LifeCompass, including its design, features, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
10.2 Your Rights
You retain ownership of the personal data and content you create within the App. You grant us a limited license to process this data to provide our services.
10.3 Third-Party Content
The App may include content from third parties. All third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
11.1 Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Complete accuracy of information or AI responses
- Availability of all features at all times
- Compatibility with all devices or operating systems
11.2 Liability Limitations
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months
- We are not responsible for third-party services or content
- We disclaim all warranties except as required by law
11.3 Financial Decision Liability
We are specifically NOT liable for:
- Any financial losses resulting from decisions you make
- Accuracy of any financial calculations or data
- Results of following any information provided in the App
- AI-generated responses or suggestions
12. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold LifeCompass, AppLabs, and our affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:
- Your use of the App or any LifeCompass services
- Your participation in community platforms or community features
- Content you post, share, or transmit through the App or community platforms
- Your interactions with other users, whether through the App or community platforms
- Your violation of these Terms of Service or any applicable law
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
- Any advice, recommendations, or information you provide to other users
- Any decisions you make based on community content or user advice
- Your use of any third-party services accessed through or in connection with the App
- Any activities that occur between you and other users outside of LifeCompass services
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of your account or these Terms.
13. TERMINATION
13.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Deleting the App from your device
- Contacting us to request account deletion
- Cancelling subscriptions through App Store settings
13.2 Termination by Us
We may terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
- Fail to pay subscription fees
- Use the service in a way that harms our business or other users
13.3 Effects of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to the App will be revoked
- Local data remains on your device
- We may delete your cloud-stored data
- Outstanding subscription fees remain due
14. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through:
- In-app notifications
- Email notifications
- Updated terms posted in the App
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
15. INTERNATIONAL USERS
15.1 Global Availability
LifeCompass is available globally, but some features may vary by jurisdiction due to local laws and regulations.
15.2 Compliance with Local Laws
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the App complies with applicable local laws and regulations.
15.3 Geographic Restrictions
We may restrict access to certain features based on your location to comply with local regulations.
16. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.2 Dispute Resolution Process
Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to:
1. Contact us directly to attempt resolution
2. Participate in good-faith negotiations for 30 days
3. Consider mediation if direct negotiation fails
16.3 Jurisdiction
Any legal disputes will be resolved in the courts of Australia.
17. MISCELLANEOUS
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17.3 Assignment
We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor entity. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
17.4 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
18. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES AND PLATFORM POLICIES
18.1 Community Standards
Your participation in LifeCompass community features is subject to our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Community Guidelines may be updated independently of these Terms.
18.2 Third-Party Platform Compliance
When using third-party community platforms (such as Discord), you must comply with:
- LifeCompass Terms of Service (these Terms)
- LifeCompass Community Guidelines
- The third-party platform's terms of service
- The third-party platform's community guidelines and policies
- All applicable laws and regulations
18.3 Enforcement and Consequences
Violations of community standards may result in:
- Warnings or temporary restrictions
- Removal from community platforms
- Suspension or termination of your LifeCompass account
- Reporting to third-party platforms or authorities where appropriate
We reserve the right to take any of these actions at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
18.4 Community Discussion Disclaimers
Community discussions are for educational and experience-sharing purposes only and do not constitute professional advice. Users should consult qualified professionals for personalized guidance regarding:
- Financial matters: Financial advisors, accountants, or financial planners
- Health and wellness: Healthcare professionals, doctors, or licensed practitioners
- Mental health: Licensed therapists, counselors, or mental health professionals
- Parenting and family: Pediatricians, family therapists, or child development specialists
- Business and legal: Business lawyers, accountants, or professional consultants
LifeCompass assumes no responsibility for decisions made based on community discussions.
18.5 Community Disputes
We are not obligated to resolve disputes between community members. You release LifeCompass from all responsibility and liability arising out of or in connection with community disputes.
